Rep. Jack Kingston, R-Ga., recently presented a U.S. flag that had been flown over the Capitol to the Long County Library.
“The fact that this flag has been flown over our Capitol shows the link between our large government and smaller government,” Kingston said. “It also shows we all are one, whether we are a big city or a small city, but more important than all of this, it shows that all of us are united under one flag.”
After the Long County Library Board Chairman Jimmy Durrence accepted the flag, it was raised by Capt. Richard Truman and Capt. Karl MacDonald, who are members of the Ludowici/Long County Fire Department. Members of the crowd, led by Kingston, recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
“It is great having Mr. Jack present this flag to our library and we are honored and feel privileged to have this flag flying over our community,” Durrence said.
