RICHMOND HILL — Cierra McNeese, CPhT, has passed the national pharmacy technician certification exam to become the fifth certified pharmacy technician at Richmond Hill Pharmacy.
McNeese has been with RHP for three years. As a pharmacy technician, she aids the licensed pharmacists in preparing prescription medications, provides customer service and performs administrative duties. She is responsible for receiving prescription requests, counting tablets and labeling bottles.
To become a certified pharmacy technician, one must sit for and pass the national PTCE. To continue to hold certification, a CPhT is required to obtain 20 hours of continuing education for recertification every two years.
A native of Richmond Hill, McNeese is a 2009 graduate of Richmond Hill High School and is currently attending Armstrong Atlantic State University.
Richmond Hill Pharmacy, part of the Coastal Family of Pharmacies, has been serving customers in the Richmond Hill area since 1984. The Coastal Family of Pharmacies also includes Medical Center Pharmacy at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah and Hinesville Pharmacy in Hinesville. All three locations offer diabetic education, prescription compounding and blood pressure monitoring.
