Altie Moody, a lifetime resident of Groveland, is turning 99 years old Thursday, Sept. 23, and a celebration in her honor will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Groveland.
Moody and her late husband, Robert Moody, raised three daughters and one son together during their 53 years of holy matrimony.   
Moody is a member of the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, where Dr. L. Perry McNeal is her pastor.
Moody spends her time gardening, driving to church and the local senior hall. She also enjoys watching “The Word” on television, but her favorite pastime is sitting on her front porch, rocking in her chair watching her 19 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 42 great-great-grandchildren, and three great-great-great-grandchildren when they gather for different family events.
