The following is from Richmond Hill Police reports:

Public drunkenness

July 23 – A Woodstock man was arrested for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct after attempting to start fights with patrons at Waffle House on Hwy. 17. Officers responded after receiving a call of two men arguing in the parking lot.
When Cpl. Richard Olesky Jr. spoke with the Woodstock man, who witnesses said was instigating the situation, he allegedly noticed the strong odor of alcohol. The man was also “extremely disorderly” with officers at the scene, communicating verbal threats of bodily harm. Even after being placed in handcuffs and seated in the rear of the patrol car, the man continued his threats toward officers and bystanders and repeatedly kicked the driver’s side rear door.

DUI
July 23 –
A Hinesville woman was arrested for DUI after driving the wrong way down the highway and then nearly hitting a patrol car in a parking lot. The woman, driving a Nissan Xterra, was first seen by law enforcement driving south in the northbound lane of Hwy. 17. Shortly thereafter, Officer Wendell Jarrell saw the vehicle pull into the Waffle House parking lot off Hwy. 17. Jarrell pulled into the parking lot and stopped close to the parking spot where the Xterra was pulled into. But as the officer got out of his vehicle, the Xterrra began backing up and nearly struck the patrol car. Jarrell turned on the car’s emergency lights and stopped the Xterra just before it pulled back out onto Hwy. 17. When he approached the vehicle, the officer said he immediately smelled alcohol coming from the SUV. The driver admitted to having consumed alcohol and also had glassy eyes and slurred speech. When she exited her vehicle, Jarrell said she was unsteady on her feet. After failing a series of sobriety tests and testing positive for alcohol, the woman was arrested and taken to the police department for booking.

The following is from Bryan County Sheriff’s Department reports:

Theft by taking
July 13 –
A Pembroke man and woman were arrested for theft and criminal trespass after deputies received and anonymous report of a suspicious Buick around Hwy. 280 and Bashlor Road. About 20 minutes after arriving to the area, Deputy Joseph Waters saw a car matching the report’s description pull onto Bashlor Road near Bacon Town Road, coming from where the Bashlor home site is located. The people in the car also matched the report’s description, and Waters turned around and pulled the Buick over. He found the backseat and truck of the car were loaded with junk metal items, which the man and woman in the car admitted to taking from the Bashlor home site.
