Every day in America, 1,849 children are abused, neglected or abandoned; three children die from child abuse; and 1188 children are removed from their homes and placed in foster care or institutions. Last year, CASA served 495 children who had been abused or neglected.
During the luncheon, the charity will honor and remember those nurturing mothers, advocates, foster parents and surrogates who have/are making a difference in the lives of children in the community.
