Georgia State Patrol Trooper Joshua Riddle said a St. Simons female, whom he did not name, did not slow down as she drove her Volkswagen Jetta past a stop sign while driving intoxicated. He said the woman “T-boned” a Toyota Sequoia driven by Richmond Hill resident Michael McKinley, 49.
Neither McKinley nor his five passengers received injuries beyond “bumps and bruises,” according to Riddle. The St. Simons woman, however, was knocked unconscious due to head injuries and was airlifted to Memorial Hospital via Lifestar helicopter. Her current condition is not known, but Riddle said she gained consciousness while at the hospital.
The woman received multiple citations, including DUI, but was not arrested due to her condition, according to Riddle.
