Seafood Fest stars won’t use stage

The $600,000 amphitheater project is slated to be completed just prior to October’s Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival.

But due to contractual stage specifications, headline acts Lou Gramm and John Waite will definitely not be using the stage, according to Richmond Hill/Bryan County Chamber of Commerce Chairman Janet Thayer. Festival officials are unsure if any of the other acts will set up on the new stage.

"We have to meet their rider specifications and had to guarantee certain audio equipment as well as the size of the stage at the time of the contract signing, and the city had not reached that point in the planning," Thayer said.
