The scripture teaches us that every one of us is destined to die and then face the judgment of God.

That is one of the few things that you can say, "10 out of 10 persons will experience."

When the average person gets out of bed I am convinced that they don’t think about the possibility of this being their last day on earth.

A tragedy happened just this week at Virginia Tech University where a gunman shot and killed around 30 people.

Those that were killed had no idea that April 16 would be their last day on earth when they went to class that morning.

Just recently in our own county the three teens who were killed in a head-on collision had no idea that that morning would be their last journey to school.

We can even go back to 9/11 when the hijackers got into those planes and crashed them, killing thousands of Americans. Those who lost their lives had no idea when they got up that September morning that they would not see another day.

The truth is that none of us knows when our last day will be.

I am not sure that this is so important to know for we ought to live each day as if it is our last.

First and foremost, we need to make sure we are prepared spiritually. We can have assurance that if we die today that we will be ready to meet our maker.

We also need to make sure that we are at peace with those we will leave behind.

We need to get into the practice of saying "I love you" to those we care about, and "I’m sorry" to those we hurt or offend.

We need to live a life where we can say to God, "If you are ready for me to leave, I’m ready."
