Officials still aren't talking about the investigation of the Quick Stop Chevron on Hwy. 67 in Pembroke.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of the Inspector General closed the store March 27 to serve a search warrant with the help of Pembroke Police and Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

The store has since reopened for business, but neither the owners nor authorities are saying why the search took place.

The Atlanta office of the USDA OIG conducted the search in Pembroke, but referred inquiries of the matter directly to the Washington D.C. office of council.

USDA spokesman Paul Feeney said except in rare cases of national concern, the department does not comment on its investigations.

"We can't comment on what we do or don't have going on," Feeney said Thursday.

The store's owners declined comment.
