Bryan County Emergency Services firefighters put out a structure fire at an Ellabell home Sunday.

No one was injured, according to a press release from BCES.

Here's the release:

"Bryan County Emergency Services North Division responded to reports of a structure fire around 1:46 p.m. Sunday afternoon at 50 Mattie Bell Davis Street in Ellabell.

First arriving units noted fire on the front left side of the two story home's exterior garage wall. A neighbor had slowed the fire progression with the homes garden hose.

An attach line was stretched and a rapid control of the fire was accomplished. A team entered the structure to check for any possible fire extension, they found no fire inside of the house.

Crews pulled covering off of the garage and a small portion of the exterior wall to ensure there were no hidden fires before the scene was turned back over to the residents.

The fire originated in a plastic trash can that was located next to the garage and spread to the exterior of the residence from there. The home owner and family were able to reoccupy the house as the damage was entirely cosmetic to the exterior of the structure. The origin of the fire was the outside trash can but the cause is undetermined. Lieutenant Mark Waters was in charge of the incident.
