The little girl in the above photo is Tabitha. Though her last name was not provided, she did something pretty special at the June 13 Friday on the Train event when she donated money to Family Promise of Bryan County "so that other children could have good homes too."

Note The following is from Family Promise member Aviva Goelman Rice.:
On Friday, June 13, community members gathered at Station Exchange in Richmond Hill to listen to Half Rigger  sing oldies while children played on the water slide or in the puddles left by a recent storm.
Although there were less people than hoped due to the weather, a lot of fun was had with hula hooping, dancing, and socializing.
As usual, Family Promise was mentioned a number of times and multiple people stopped by our table to get information and to give donations.
Tabitha, the little girl shown in the picture attached, brought back her Houses for Change house that she made at last month's Friday on the Train filled with a good deal of change and bills.  Her grandma told us that when Tabitha was given money by her grandfather to buy some ice cream, she decided to put it in her Houses for Change box instead so that "other children  could have a good home, too."
In the picture, Tabitha is wearing a sticker we gave her that says: “I Gave Change for Change in Bryan County.”  All together, we collected $72.68 and we're grateful and excited about every bit of it as all donations help us get closer to opening our own Family Promise affiliate.
Children who took home a Houses for Change house in May are welcome to return their house at the Friday on the Train event on July 18.  Fundraising efforts for Family Promise of Bryan County continue and include an upcoming bed race in early November.  We appreciate the support our community has shown.
