RH Lions Club sets broom sale: The Richmond Hill Lions Club will have a broom sale at Kroger, located in Richmond Hill on Ford Ave (Highway 144), from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, July 26, and possibly until 6 p.m.  
Brooms on sale include whisk, child, house, heavy duty and garage, as well as mops.

Friends of Library to hold book sale
The Friends of the Richmond Hill Library will hold its next “In the Book Room” sale on Tuesday, July 15, from 2-6 p.m. at the library.
Prices will start at 10 cents. All proceeds benefit the library.
As the last book room sale was quite successful, FOL needs donations, particularly of children’s books and nonfiction, especially history, gardening, crafts and decorating, and sports.
Donations are tax-deductible.

Prayer breakfast

The September Birth Month Committee members of Bryan Neck Missionary Baptist Church, Richmond Hill, will host their second “Prayer Breakfast Fundraiser” beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday at the church. Everyone is welcome and asked to attend and show support by purchasing a breakfast plate for $8 and hear Evangelist and Christ Memorial Baptist Church First Lady Gwendolyn Broxton speak on the power of prayers.

Libraries Closed
The Bryan County libraries in Pembroke and Richmond Hill will be closed Friday and Saturday for the Independence Day holiday. They will reopen at 10 a.m. Monday.

Riverkeeper Day

Ogeechee Riverkeeper Day will be recognized from noon-3 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at Love’s Seafood and Steaks in Richmond Hill. Cost for the low country boil is $20 per adult and $6 per child aged 4-12.
Entertainment will include live music by Dr. Dan Matrazzo and the Looters, a bouncy house and face painting. A portion of all proceeds will benefit Ogeechee Riverkeeper.

Summer art camp

The city of Pembroke’s recreation department is having a summer art camp in June and July. Classes, designed for ages 12-adult, are from 10 a.m.-noon Mondays and Wednesdays. Cost to attend a four-week workshop is $75 plus supplies. For more information and to register, call 912-658-5953.

25th anniversary party set
The Dolphin Project will celebrate its 25th anniversary from 6-10 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at the JF Gregory Park Pavilion. Food options include low country boil, barbecue and dessert. Beverages, including beer and wine, will be available. Entertainment will include a live band. Cost is $35 per person, which includes dinner and two beverage tickets.
There also will be a silent auction to raise funds for research and education.

RHPC plans Bible school
Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church will hold its annual Vacation Bible School from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Sunday, July 20 to Thursday July 24. The event is free and registration or more information is available by going to www.rhpchurch.com or calling 912-459-PRAY.
The theme is “Heaven Quest.” The entire community, from ages 2-100 are invited. Childcare will be available upon request.

Bible school planned
New Beginnings Community Church will be having its  annual Vacation Bible School for children ages 4 to middle school from 6-8 p.m. nightly, July 21-25.
The theme for this year is “Wilderness Escape.”
