When is it the correct time to begin thinking about spiritual things?
The wise man Solomon wrote, “Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them” (Ecclesiastes 12:1).  Some fail to realize the value of Solomon’s words and wait until they get older. The saying goes, “They wanted to sow some wild oats before putting down.” Tragically, some who chose that path never came back from the field of sin.
It should be remembered that life is but for a little while. James wrote, “Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour that appeareth for a little time and then vanisheth away” (James 4:14). As the days and years pass by, they seem to come swifter and swifter.
The idea many have of waiting to seek out God is a dangerous thing. It becomes easier and easier to put it off, and a person’s heart can become so hardened that they may never obey God. Luke wrote of a man who, after listening to the apostle Paul preach, decided to wait to hear more. “And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled and answered, ‘Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee’” (Acts 24:25). It is not recorded in the Bible if Felix ever obeyed the Gospel. But no one needs to make this same mistake.
Some find it hard to believe that God would be concerned about them, but he is. He cares for everything and everybody (Matthew 6:25-30).  Jesus explains in this text how God cares for the flowers, the birds and, yes, for man. In his sermon, he explains how man should trust in and seek God above all else. This teaching can and has turned the world upside down, as people realized they have a creator who cares and has provided a way for them to have a good life on Earth and a home in heaven for eternity.
Why not start today in getting on the right track? Pick up a copy of the Bible if you do not have one and start learning about God’s love for you. Learn about the church that Christ built and for which he died. “And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18). “Take heed, therefore, unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood” (Acts 20:28).
Learn how God wants you to prepare for the end of this short life. His desire is that all should be saved. He allowed man to crucify his Son, this was in his plan for our salvation (Acts 2:23).You still might say, “Well, one of these days, I will.” Just remember: “One of these days,” this life will be over and there will be no more tomorrows. As the Hebrew writer said, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).
Make your start today.
