May 1: Historical Society Lecture Series — The Richmond Hill Historical Society’s monthly lecture is back from 7-9 p.m. at the Richmond Hill History Museum. This month’s guest speaker is Vivian Macks, who will talk on Henry Ford, the innovator, industrialist and  farmer who turned his mechanical interests into a global company that changed the world — and made a mark on Richmond Hill. The lecture is free to the public, though donations are welcome. For more information, visit www.richmonhilhistoricalsociety.com or call 756-3697.

Bryan Co. Bark Park Fundraiser — Dog owners are invited to the second Wine and Cheese Event at the Richmond Hill City Center from 6-10 p.m. The event’s purpose is to raise enough money to complete the building and opening of phase one of the Bryan County Bark Park, which is scheduled to open this summer. A cash bar will be available during the event. Fine wines, savory cheeses and heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served. Roger Widener will provide live music. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction and a live auction. Tickets are $50 per person. For more information, visit www.bryancountybarkpark.com.
