State transportation board member Ann Purcell talked road projects Monday as keynote speaker at a breakfast launching Georgia Cities Week in Richmond Hill.
And then some.
While Purcell didn’t offer any surprise announcements at the event at the City Center, the outspoken former state legislator from Rincon said projects on the books for Bryan County are on schedule — among them the I-95 interchange at Belfast Siding, which is set for 2017, and a dedicated right-turn lane at Highway 144 and 17, work on which could begin as early as next month.
Along the way, Purcell praised local government officials for their willingness to work on issues impacting their communities, often in the face of criticism from constituents.
