Two Fort Stewart soldiers were included in the Friday arrest of six men now facing charges of crimes against children.

According to officials with the FBI and the Pooler Police Department, the following men were arrested on state charges of sexual exploitation of children after they traveled to Pooler for the purpose of having sex with a minor child:

Raymond Patrick Perez, age 27, soldier, Fort Stewart

Daniel Corvette Powell, age 25, soldier, Fort Stewart

Bengie Kevin Odum, age 49, of Jesup

John Thomas Pratt, age 56, Hilton Head, S.C.

Michael Gilbert Rosales, age 35, Pooler

Jason Bryant Williams, age 31, Pooler

The FBI-led Southeast Georgia Child Exploitation Task Force, in conjunction with the Pooler Police Department, operates to locate and recover juveniles sexually exploited through prostitution and to identify and arrest those who are exploiting the juveniles, according to a press release from the FBI.

The Task Force is comprised of agents and officers from the FBI, GBI, Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, Effingham County Sheriff’s Office and the Pooler Police Department.

Also assisting in this recent operation were FBI agents from Augusta and the FBI Atlanta led Metro Atlanta Child Exploitation (MATCH) Task Force.

All of the above individuals were processed and initially detained at the Chatham County Detention Facility.
