Q: Where are you from?
A: I’m originally from Indiana, but I moved to Hinesville last June after getting married. I started working with the Coastal Courier and Liberty Life magazine, which is what led me to begin working with the Bryan County News.

Q: How long have you been writing?
A: I have always enjoyed writing, but I started seriously writing news while in college. I have a degree in journalism, and after college I worked as a newspaper reporter for two years before moving here.

Q: What are your favorite places to visit around here?
A: I have loved exploring the area with my husband. We have a huge list of restaurants we want to try. So far, our favorite has been The Old Pink House in Savannah. We also love visiting Tybee Island or Jekyll Island. I’m all about the beach!

Q: What are some of your hobbies?
A: I love reading Christian fiction novels. I’ve read all of Karen Kingsbury’s books. I like playing board games with family and friends. We have family visit a lot, which I love. I enjoy baking if it means I get to eat something sweet. I also have a personal blog that I enjoy writing, designing and maintaining.

Q: What’s your biggest fear?
A: Spiders, for sure. It’s basically a phobia because I may have a panic attack when seeing one. I can’t even look at pictures of them or see them on TV because I’ll have nightmares.

Q: What are your favorite TV shows?
A: I love watching Chicago Fire and Chicago PD. I also just recently started Parenthood — as in started from the beginning of season one and watched all the way through. I’m now in season four and I love this show, but boy does it bring tears!

Q: What are your favorite foods?
A: I have such a sweet tooth. I love ice cream, cookies, cake and chocolate. I also really enjoy bread and pasta. Thank goodness I have a fast metabolism!

Q: What is your greatest achievement?
A: I think whenever I had stories picked up by the AP. It made me feel like I was finally a real journalist.

Q: If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
A: I am really bad about freaking out or getting upset when plans suddenly change. I wish I could go with the flow more.

Q: What are some things on your bucket list?
A: I would love to travel to Hawaii, Italy and Australia. I also definitely want to have children in the future. Oh, and swim with dolphins!
