The Bryan County Bark Park recently announce that a regular monthly Bring Your Own Dog Yappy Hour will take place the second Thursday of every month to fundraising efforts for the building of the county’s dog park at Henderson Park.
This next event will be “Puppy Love” from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at Fish Tales Restaurant at Fort McAllister Marina. At this event, construction plans will be unveiled and news about the park’s groundbreaking will be shared.
During the Valentine’s Day-themed event, every dog will receive a heart-shaped cookie and be entered into a drawing to win a doggie gift basket from the Bark Park and a grooming coupon.
A percentage of all proceeds are donated to the non-profit organization behind the Bryan County Bark Park.
Entry is free; well-behaved dogs are encouraged to attend. Non-alcoholic cocktails also will be available.
“We are having a real push to open the Bark Park as soon as possible and are delighted to report that work is now beginning after the delays caused by rain over the recent past months,” Bark Park President Wendy Bolton said. “By supporting the Bark Park’s fundraising events, people will not only have a great time, but also actively take a part in establishing a safe place in our community to spend time with their human and canine family, where dogs can run free.”
The group’s website is bryancountybarkpark.com. It also can be liked on Facebook.
