The South Bryan County Fire Department will be helping Santa and his elves visit Richmond Hill neighborhoods to meet with local children and collect toys for those in need.
Santa runs got underway earlier this week and will continue in various neighborhoods across South Bryan Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Children and their parents should keep an eye out after dark for fire trucks cruising with Santa onboard.

Friends meeting
The Friends of the Richmond Hill Public Library will meet at 11 a.m. Monday in the large conference room of the library on Ford Avenue.  
This is the annual luncheon and the library staff will be honored.
Anyone interested in learning more about the Friends of the Library and possibly joining the organization are urged to attend.

Chorus performance
The Richmond Hill High School chorus will hold its annual holiday concert at 7 p.m. Thursday in the west gym at RHHS.
The event is free and the group is holding a collection drive for the Back Packs of Love program through the United Way. Items needed include pre-packaged foods, such as mac and cheese, chicken noodle soup, fruit cups, individual snack items, canned chili, canned tuna and more, as well as personal care items, such as toothpaste, toothbrushes and soap.

Winter Muster
Fort McAllister will hold its annual Winter Muster from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the battle at 5 p.m., Dec. 14 at the state historic park.
Spend the 149th anniversary of Fort McAllister’s fall to Gen. Sherman’s troops that ended his March to the Sea and conceded Savannah to the Union. The Winter Muster is the fort’s biggest re-enactment of the year as Union and Confederate re-enactors relive the moments leading up to the final battle.
Admission is $6.50 for adults, $6 for seniors and $3.75 for children. Kids 5 and under are free. For more information, call 727-2339.

Christmas parade
On Dec. 14, the 30th annual Christmas in Pembroke parade and festival will start at 9 a.m., with the parade beginning at 11 a.m. Events include a classic car show and a kids area in DuBois Square
