The Richmond Hill Lions Club met Aug. 22 at the Bryan Lodge 303 F&AM building on Bass Street.
Ronny Gerrald, a RHLC member for 35 years, received the 35-year pin, presented by President Rick Gardner.
The Lions Club works to help with vision and other needs in the community and Gerrald, with other members, has spent many hours volunteering and working with projects to provide funds to make the service possible.
Rose Gerrald, also a member, put the pin on Ronny’s vest.  Ronny and Boyd Walden, both past presidents, were thanked by Gardner for their dedication and service.
Guest speaker Mayor Harold Fowler highlighted some achievements during his term, including a traffic light at Mulberry, refinancing the City Center loan so taxpayers no longer pay to operate the Center, no raising the millage rate, working on updating the wastewater treatment plant, recycling in the city, working with Bryan County on Timber Trail resurfacing and a light at the intersection with 144 and also an interchange at Belfast.  He commended the city department heads on a great job.
Anyone interested in becoming a club member can talk with a current member or call 912-756-3461.
