Officers were installed June 27 for the 2013-14 slate for the Richmond Hill Lions Club.
Officers installed were: President Rick Gardner; Tail Twister Billy Albritton; Membership Chairman and Past President Ronny Gerrald;  Chaplain Burnard Exley; directors Steve Stevens, Tommy Brookshire and Bob Berry; Lion Tamer Mike Bush; Treasurer Del Turner; and Secretary Ouieda Sisco.
Chip and Terry Nedza of Richmond Hill were welcomed as members.  They transferred June 22 from the Wilmington Island club.
In March, the Richmond Hill Lions Club celebrated its 50th anniversary. Club members worked together on projects to benefit the community, provide scholarships, sponsor Star Students, donate to Leader Dogs for the Blind, Lighthouse, sponsor poster child Sarah Rash at the Camp for the Blind in Waycross, provide glasses where needed and work on fundraisers.
Ronny Gerrald received a plaque in appreciation for his work as president this past year. Serving as president for the club’s 50th year, Gerrald’s plaque had a picture of the District Governor Pat Powell presenting the 1/2 Century Certificate to the club. Powell is a member of the Hinesville Lions Club that was the sponsoring club in 1963. The club also plans to construct a building in the near future in which to meet.
This is the first year the president has named a Richmond Hill Lions Club lion of the year. Sisco received the honor of being the first RH Lion of the Year. A plaque will be on display in the future building and have all the names of those selected yearly by the seated Club President.
Receiving 100 percent attendance pins for the year were: Bob Berry, Chris Berry, Mike Bush, Burnard Exley, Ronny Gerrald, Rose Gerrald, Ouieda Sisco, Steve Stevens, Del Turner and Boyd Walden.
The club will again have a booth July 6 in JF Gregory Park.  The menu will include hamburgers, barbecue sandwiches, hot dogs, homemade lemonade, iced tea and snow cones.  Club members will be at the Farmer’s Market in J.F. Gregory Park on Tuesdays to sell brooms.
