The following reports are from the Bryan County Sheriff’s Department: Criminal trespassing, Dec. 4 — Deputies reported to Countryside Drive in Ellabell around 5 p.m. after a woman reported her mailbox had been damaged and covered in neon green silly string. She said it likely happened between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Theft by taking

Dec. 3 — Deputies met with a Richmond Hill man around 10 a.m. at the Sheriff’s Complex in Richmond Hill after he reported several items missing from his home. He said a Weatherby Accumark rifle, Swarovski scope and Swarovski binoculars had been taken from his home and last remembered seeing them in early October. Together the items value about $5,200.

Nov. 30 — Around 11 a.m., deputies responded to Richmond Hill Middle School on Warren Hill Road after a woman reported her son’s iPhone 4 had been taken from the gym locker room while he was in class.


The following reports are from the Richmond Hill Police Department:

DUI

Nov. 30 — Just before 3:30 a.m., officers stopped a Richmond Hill woman because she was driving 45 mph in a 70-mph speed zone. The woman told officers she was driving slowly because she was arguing with her boyfriend over the phone. The woman smelled of alcohol and failed a sobriety test.

Theft of services

Dec. 5 — Officers responded to Denny’s restaurant on Highway 17 around 1 p.m. after the restaurant manager said a man ate a meal but could not pay his bill of $11.18. The San Antonio, Texas, man said he lost his wallet and was arrested after the manager said he wanted to prosecute.

No brake lights

Dec. 5 — Officers stopped a Savannah man around 8 p.m. in the Denny’s parking lot on Highway 17 after seeing his tag lights and one brake light were not working. The man was arrested after officers found his driver’s license was suspended and he had an opened can of beer in his truck.
