Pearl, left, and Belle, the granddaughter of Uga V, wait patiently for their turn at Santa’s lap Saturday at PawParazzi Pet Boutique in Richmond Hill. The funds raised from the pet photos with Santa will go toward building a dog park in Richmond Hill.

PawParazzi Pet Boutique in Richmond Hill hosted a special visitor Saturday, Santa Claus. He was visiting from the North Pole to have his picture taken for charity with his furry four-legged friends.

The proceeds of the event will help build a dog park, dubbed the Bryan County Bark Park, in Richmond Hill.

“We came to PawParazzi to support the new dog park,” said Chrissy Turner, who brought three of her dogs. “We can’t wait for the park.”

This is the fifth year PawParazzi has hosted pet photos with Santa but the first year for new store owners Jane and Alex Honnor.

“We decided to keep the event going,” Jane Honnor said. “It has always been done for charity, and me being one of the founding members of the Bark Park charity, we decided that all proceeds would go to the Bryan County Bark Park.”

Everyone — those with two legs or four — seemed to be enjoying the visit with Santa.

“It’s good fun. The dogs enjoy it, the people enjoy it. It’s a good start for the holiday season,” Honnor said. “It just makes people happy, and they enjoy spending that time with their dogs. As a dog owner myself, I feel it is important to get your dog out and socialize. People enjoy coming in and seeing their dogs happy.”
