Budget hearing: The Bryan County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing regarding the 2013 budget at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Bryan County Administrative Complex in South Bryan.

Brockovich to appear
Bryan County and area residents have the chance to meet with environmental advocate Erin Brockovich from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Love’s Seafood off Highway 17 at the Ogeechee River.
The Ogeechee Riverkeeper organization is hosting the event in support of the fight against King America Finishing, the Screven County-based textiles plant believed by some to be the cause of recent fish kills and pollution in the river.

Veterans celebration
Lanier Primary School will hold a special veterans program and celebration at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the school on Highway 280. All veterans are invited to attend as special guests.
The gifted enrichment students will be presenting the annual veterans celebration to honor all veterans and currently enlisted members of the U.S. Armed Forces.
This program will feature tributes to American veterans and service members. Each veteran in attendance will receive recognition.

Grief workshop
Those who need help with grief issues as the holidays draw near are invited to the free “Grief and the Holidays” workshop at 6 p.m. Monday at the United Way Service Center, 9611 Ford Ave. in Richmond Hill.
