Unless you live in a cave without television, radio, Internet or some other form of media, you are keenly aware that there is an election for the office of president of these United States that will be held Nov. 6.

There are other important local and state offices to be elected as well, and it is extremely important that we exercise our right to vote for the candidate of our choice.

Tuesday, Nov. 6, we can expect long lines at the various polling places. However, the early voting opportunities are provided to make voting more convenient for all of us.

Early voting begins Monday and goes through Friday, Nov. 2, (from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday) and one Saturday, Oct. 27, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The early voting locations are in Pembroke at the court house and in south Bryan at the County Administrative Complex on Capt. Matthew Freeman Drive.

If you would like to see a copy of the ballot and the offices you will be voting on, please go to the www.sos.ga.gov/mvp and follow the prompts. You can also identify your polling place on this website.

Please exercise your right to vote and vote early to avoid long lines at the polls on Nov. 6.

“Nobody will ever deprive the American people of the right to vote except the American people themselves and the only way they could do this is by not voting.” — Franklin D. Roosevelt, 32nd U. S. President.

Jimmy Burnsed is the chairman of the Bryan County Board of Commissioners.
