RHHS Homecoming: Richmond Hill High School will celebrate homecoming on Thursday with a parade and powder puff football game.
The parade is at 6 p.m. and will begin at the South Bryan Recreation Department fields on Timber Trail Road and travel to the high school. The powder puff game is at 7:30 p.m.
The homecoming game follows Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium against Groves.

Pumpkin Patch
The Richmond Hill Garden Club’s Pumpkin Patch will run from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday in J.F. Gregory Park.
Activities will include face painting, the bean-bag toss, a ring toss, a fish pond and photo opportunities with the Pumpkin Lady. Items featured will include pumpkins, mums, hay bales and corn stalks.

Church yard sale
Faith Harvest Sanctuary will have a yard sale fundraiser at 8 a.m. Saturday at the church on Highway 280 in Lanier.
Space for personal sales may also be rented for $20. Tables will not be provided and reservations are not needed.

Spooktacular
Pembroke is gearing up for its annual Spooktacular celebration set for Oct. 27 in downtown Pembroke that will include new events this year.
The inaugural Spooktacular 5K will start at 8 a.m. Participants can register at www.active.com
Downtown shopping and the Spooktacular Scavenger Hunt will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the Whistlestop Farmers Market will be up and running from 4-7 p.m. in DuBois Square.
The fourth annual North Bryan Chamber of Commerce Pumpkin Carving Contest is a 5 p.m., with contest winners being announced at 6 p.m. Hayrides leaving from DuBois Square will be ongoing from 5-7 p.m, and a Spooktacular movie will be shown in the square at 7 p.m.

Yarn donations
Common Threads, a needle-work group at the Richmond Hill Public Library, is seeking donations of yarn.
Common Threads knit and crochet adult chemo hats, Afghan blankets and lap throws and nursery and children’s hats for local hospitals. Some items are also available for free at the library. The group is in need of yarn to continue these projects.
Donations can be dropped off at the Richmond Hill Public Library on Ford Avenue anytime during regular business hours.

Thrift store
St. Elizabeth’s Attic and Thrift Store at St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church in Richmond Hill has Halloween items and fall and winter clothing available.
The store, at 1649 Highway 144, is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. For more information, call 727-2664.

Legion meeting
American Legion Post 164 meets at 7 p.m. the second Thursday of each month at the post home on Highway 280 about a half mile west of Harvey’s Grocery store. All veterans are invited to attend.
