My hiatus as a sports blogger is over. I know, I can hear the crickets chirping.

Ah well. We’ll see how it goes. But I might as well note up front I was motivated to blog again by something that has nothing whatsoever to do with sports.

I’m not sure what category you’d fit this in – maybe man’s general downhill run to eventual ruin and oblivion.

All I know is Saturday after I got off work I stopped by Goodwill in Richmond Hill and as I parked I saw a wadded up and apparently fully loaded diaper sitting on the asphalt, just cooking in the sun. Yep. No. 2.

I say “apparently fully loaded” because I didn’t poke it with a stick to make sure. And I certainly wasn’t going to pick it up and weigh it.

I was mostly glad I saw it in time to avoid hitting it.

By the way, by no means is this blog directed at Goodwill or the folks who work there. Not their fault. They’ve got enough to do without rounding up dirty diapers in parking lots. And while I know Goodwill accepts donations, I don’t think this is what they had in mind.

More like upset that some people apparently care so little about the rest of us that they’ll decorate our world with whatever they please.

I don’t know. Maybe there’s an excuse somewhere. Maybe. If you can think of one, shoot me an email and I’ll share with the rest of the 30 people who might read this blog.

In the meantime, I think most folks would find a place other than a parking lot to put a used disposable diaper.
