The first Interview Fair was held April 24-25 at Richmond Hill High School, and local business-community members conducted mock interviews of more than 100 career, technical, agricultural education (CTAE) students.

Students learned about the job-application process in class and put their skills to the test.

Students were interviewed and rated on their resume, job application, appearance and interviewing skills. The feedback from the interviewers was encouraging and is meant to help the students in future job interviews or college interviews.

The CTAE department thanks Larry Barker, Barker and Associates Insurance; Natalyn Morris, Coastal Electric Cooperative; Craig Klebe, Herbert Kinstler, and Bobbie Love, Gulfstream; Terri Jarrell, Jarrell Tax and Business Consultants; Ken Williams, GeoVista Federal Credit Union; Brianne Yontz, Richmond Hill-Bryan County Chamber of Commerce; Michael Whitfield, Goodwill Industries; Jamie Coleman, RPI-Roofing Professionals; Beth Odom, Dr. Jane Lynes; and Mickey Bayens.

The response to the first Interview Fair was positive, and the CTAE department hopes to be able to expand the event next year.
