Members of the Richmond Hill Exchange Club got an update on the happenings in the city last week when Mayor Harold Fowler addressed the club about the state of the city.
Fowler spoke to club members at a meeting in the Richmond Hill City Center and discussed many things going on in the city. Fowler explained how Richmond Hill is now "open for business," updated members on Belfast Commerce Center and an upcoming referendum.
Negotiations continue with TerraPointe, the real estate arm of Rayonier, for the annexation of the 900-acre future site of Belfast Commerce Center, Fowler told club members. Though the negotiations have been ongoing for more than two years now, Fowler said the major hang up is with sewer and water.
He said the city will not incorporate the property until TerraPointe can provide water and sewer services to the site.
