Members of the community gathered Thursday for a retreat at the Richmond Hill City Center to discuss Bryan County Family Connection and its role in the community.
At the retreat, around 30 people brainstormed for strategies to revamp BCFC's annual plan, and took a look at the organization's five-year plan. BCFC Director Wendy Sims said she was glad to see some new folks along with veterans.
"I think it went very well and I was pleased with the turnout," Sims said. "I was pleased with the number of people who are new to Family Connection too."
Sims said she thought the group made a lot of progress at the retreat, and thinks everyone who participated enjoyed the day.
"I think everybody actually enjoyed it, especially the people from this community who want to have a buy-in and give their input," Sims said. "And that's what family connection is all about - local people making local decisions."
