Marianne Izzo, secretary of the Richmond Hill Historical Society, lined up against this week's list of questions:

1. What do you feel is your greatest achievement?
Marrying my wonderful husband Bob and raising two successful sons.

2. What, to you, is perfect happiness?
Thanksgiving Day with my family.

3. What one material possession would you save in the event of a fire (assuming your family was safe)?
My grandfather’s pencil drawing, which has been my inspiration to draw.

4. What's the best advice you've ever been given?
From my gymnastics coach: “If you don’t succeed the first time, keep at it until you do succeed.” 

5. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I would be a morning person. I would jump out of bed at first light and start my day.

6. What is your greatest fear?
My greatest fear would be to outlive my children. 

7. What real or fictional person do you most identify with?
Jacqueline Kennedy: “If you bungle raising your children, I don’t think whatever else you do matters very much.”

8. What is your greatest extravagance?
Sonoma Valley Zinfandel!

9. If money weren't an object, how would you spend your time?
I am fortunate to be able to spend lots of time on my favorite hobbies: painting, drawing, gardening and tennis.

10. What trait do you most admire in another person?
I admire honest, positive people.

11. What trait do you most deplore in another person?
I dislike people that are deceptive and manipulating.

12. Who are your favorite musicians?
I love rock and roll, especially Metallica.

13. What are your favorite books?
My top three: “Gone with the Wind,” “Lord of the Rings” and “Stones from the River.”

14. What talent would you most like to have?
I would love to be able to sing.
