A cool fall morning was the perfect complement Saturday to the Richmond Hill Garden Club’s 12th annual Pumpkin Patch at the pavilion in J.F. Gregory Park where hundreds of families came out in search of the essential fall decorations.
In addition to pumpkins, bales of hay, colorful mums, other fall decorations and baked goods could be purchased, while games like a pumpkin ring toss, jack-o-lantern bean bag toss and a fish pond were enjoyed by the younger crowd.
Children had their pictures taken with the Pumpkin Lady or on bales of hay with fall decorations surrounding them. A face painting booth was also part of the fun.
Richmond Hill resident Scott Novinski and his family came out to enjoy the games and, of course, the Pumpkin Patch, he said.
“We came for the fun of coming out,” he said. “Just wanted to bring the family out for a family fun day.”
Club president Lori Pommerenck said the club began the day with around 600 pumpkins, and all of them were sold by the close of the event.
