Best-selling author Stephen King will appear as the guest of honor at the Savannah Book Festival. He will deliver the closing address at 3 p.m. Feb. 19, 2012, at the Trustees Theater in downtown Savannah.
King, the author of more than 350 written works, is the 2003 recipient of The National Book Foundation Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters, awarded each year to a writer who has enriched the country’s literary heritage over a life of service or a corpus of work.
His most recent novel, “11/22/63,” published by Scribner, hits stores Nov. 8.
“We are extremely excited to welcome Mr. King as the guest of honor at our fifth annual festival,” said Stephanie Duttenhaver Savannah Book Festival board president. “His willingness to appear is a testament to the reputation and growth of our festival, which now rivals any festival in the country for talent, author access and charm.”
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Oct. 3 for $10 each. To reserve a seat, call the SCAD box office at 912-525-5050.
For more information, call executive director Robin Gold at 912-598 4040, email info@savannahbookfestival.org or go to www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=110788820480.
