SAVANNAH - A 197-foot, steel-hulled tall ship has docked on River Street in Savannah and will remain through Saturday.

The Danmark arrived on Tuesday. Savannah is one of two East Coast ports for the ship, which is used by the Danish government to train merchant marine candidates.

The ship will sail for Philadelphia on Saturday and after a five-day stay there will cross the Atlantic to return to Denmark.

The three-masted ship has a crew of 95, including 80 trainees. It was built in 1933.

Reportedly the vessel will be open for public tours this afternoon and Friday. Saturday's visitation is from 10-11:30 a.m.
