The Richmond Hill Public Library recently added some new books to its collection after two former Savannah authors offered up a generous donation.

Library manager Kate Barker said the donation came from a husband-and-wife team known collectively as Ilona Andrews that writes urban fantasy novels. Andrews posted a blog on their website stating they were going to have a “small library giveaway,” Barker said.

“They posted on their blog they had quite a bit of extra materials, and instead of having all that sit on shelves, they wanted to donate it to libraries across the country,” Barker said.

After initially learning of the giveaway from her daughter, Barker said she posted a comment on the blog saying the Richmond Hill Public Library would be more than happy to have new materials.

“I was delighted to receive an email saying we’d get them,” she said, adding the library received the books in early June.
