Early Thursday morning, Jim Anderson resigned from his position as the director of Bryan County Emergency Services, according to County Administrator Phil Jones.

Jones said Anderson brought a resignation letter into his office around 8:20 a.m. Thursday. No reason has been released for the resignation.

“At the present time I can’t make a statement,” Jones said. “We have an ongoing personnel investigation.”

Jones said the vacancy will be filled for the time being by trained deputies in fire services, emergency medical services and other deputies in the emergency operations center.

“I will tentatively be the overall supervisor as I was Jim’s supervisor,” Jones said.

There is no time frame as to when a new director will be hired, Jones said. However, he said the county will begin a search process soon.

Anderson has worked for Bryan County Emergency Services for eight years, Jones said.
