The city of Richmond Hill will host it’s first-ever farmers market from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the pavilion at J.F. Gregory Park.

Market organizer Angus McLeod said he hopes to have upwards of 20 vendors selling local produce, crafts and more – including lemonade.

“I am proud to announce that the little girls from Midway that have been on the national news will be selling lemonade …” he posted on Facebook. “These girls were busted by the Midway police for not having a city business license to sell lemonade in their front yard. You do not have to have a city license to sell at the Richmond Hill Farmer’s Market.”

There will even be live entertainment from a North Carolina mountain-group playing a blend of bluegrass and gospel music, McLeod said.

The market is set to run from 4-8 p.m. each Tuesday through mid-October. Vendors must pay $15 for space under the pavilion to Richmond Hill City Hall each week prior to the market opening.

Anyone interested in participating in the farmers markets as a vendor or entertainment is asked to call McLeod at 572-5888 or email mcleodah@aol.com.
