Driving up to the County Administrative Complex in South Bryan, some may not know much about the Capt. Matthew Freeman of Capt. Matthew Freeman Drive. But now when they walk inside the building, they’ll be able to find out exactly who he was.

A display case honoring the fallen Marine Capt. Matthew Freeman, who was killed in action in 2009 in Afghanistan, will exhibit the achievements of the young Marine and his life in Richmond Hill.

According to Lisa Freeman, his mother, many people were curious about the person behind the street name. Freeman said after being contacted by people in the county, she decided to put together a display case in honor of her son so the community would know more about him.

“It will show the kind of man that Richmond Hill helped raise, and who Matt was throughout his time here and what he became after he left here,” she said.

Though not yet finished, the case will be displayed in the main lobby of the Administrative Complex.
