POSTED: February 23, 2007 5:06 a.m.

Richmond Hill YMCA sponsors a program for young mothers who need a break from their little ones – maybe  to shop for groceries, to take care of business, or to run errands. Monday through Friday, the YMCA provides a block of time from 8 a.m. until noon at the childcare center behind the Richmond Hill Library in the white building which once served as the senior citizen building. The library and the white building behind it (YMCA childcare center) are located on Ford Avenue.
For a small fee, any mother or childcare provider can drop any child from age six-weeks up through four years. The center has lots of toys and some planned activities for the children  JoAnne Fromme, coordinator for the program, is assisted by Dora Lineiro. The two ladies keep the center open and running throughout the week during the morning hours.
For more information, call Fromme at 756-5856. She said there’s always room for another child.
