Karl Rove, former senior advisor and deputy chief of staff to President George W. Bush, will appear at the fourth annual Savannah Book Festival at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Trustees Theatre in downtown Savannah.

Rove will present the paperback version of his memoir “Courage and Consequence: My Life as a Conservative in the Fight,” which features new material about the current political climate, after which he will field questions from the audience.

“Courage and Consequence” provides a first-person account of recent history’s most critical milestones by the architect of President George W. Bush’s ascendency to the Governor’s Mansion in Texas and ultimately to the White House.

Rove’s account takes readers into the meetings and moments that defined Bush’s presidency, giving an intimate look at the decision-making and makers. Along the way, he tells of his own evolution as one of the leaders of America’s conservative movement.

Rove served as Bush’s senior advisor and deputy chief of staff until 2007. Rove now contributes commentary to Fox News on political strategy, writes a weekly op-ed column for the Wall Street Journal, and pens a column for Newsweek magazine.

Rove’s talk will be a fundraiser for the Savannah Book Festival, with tickets for sale at $10 per person. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Savannah Book Festival. Please contact the SCAD box office at scadboxoffice.com or (912) 525-5050.
