Three players scored in double figures to help lead Richmond Hill High School to a 62-40 win over Greenbrier in the first round of the Region 2-AAAA tourney on Monday at South Effingham High School.

Ailyah Johnson and Sidney Millek had 16 points each while Tay Reynolds added 13 for RHHS. Meanwhile, Sarah Goolsby played shutdown defense on Greenbrier star Deztine Cotton, holding her to 13 points and only five in the second half.

The win means Richmond Hill advances to play No. 1 seed Statesboro at 8 p.m. Wednesday at South Effingham.

The Richmond Hill boys face Evans tonight at 8 p.m. in Guyton. A win advances the Wildcats to a game against top-seed Effingham County.
