In sports there is rarely middle ground. Instead, there is success and failure and there are winners and losers.
Under third-year coach Mario Mincey, the Bryan County High School girls' basketball team is doing a lot more winning than losing. The Lady Redskins are 35-10 since his first team posted a 9-18 mark in 2008-2009.
This year's squad was 16-2 before Tuesday night's game against Claxton and ranked No. 4 in the most recent Atlanta Journal Constitution Class A poll.
All of which means Mincey has got to be doing something right. Below, he shares some of his thoughts on the BCHS program.

What do you like about this years' team ?
"I really enjoy how this team plays well together. They are starting to really play with some good chemistry and they are a fun group to coach and I really like the way that they believe that they can win."

What is their work ethic like at practice?
"During practice we really try to get after each other. Our drills are intense and our staff challenges them to go full speed no matter what. During scrimmages we try and have different teams each day and have a 'no out of bounds' rule. This means if a ball goes in the stands or wherever, the players have to hustle to it. They work really hard and are starting to understand how practicing hard really pays off in the long run."
